It is a dark French roast that brings out bittersweet, smoky notes in the beans, muting the brighter, wine-like notes. Selected from high-altitude Rainforest Alliance Certified farms in Latin America, the beans were roasted to a deep, dark brown color with aromatic oils coating the surface.
